Carys Gwilym

Carys was born in Old Colwyn, and brought up in Denbigh, North Wales.

She trained at the Welsh College of Music & Drama, and lived in Cardiff for many years. She has worked extensively in Welsh Theatre for companies such as Theatr Powys, Cwmni’r Fran Wen, Hwyl a Fflag, Theatr Gwynedd, Dalier Sylw, Spectacle Theatre, Hijinx Theatre, Made in Wales And Theatr Cenedlaethol Cymru.

Her recent theatre work includes “Rwtsh Ratsh Rala Rwdins” (Arad Goch), “Dal i Bwmpio” (Bara Caws), “Llyfr Mawr y Plant” (Bara Caws) and “Johnny Delaney” (Cwmni’r Fran Wen).

Her recent TV appearances include Bethan Lloyd (“Iechyd Da”), Gwenan (“Amdani”), Mali Rees (“Pobl y Cwm”), Mrs Denman (“Treflan”) and Audrey (“Talcen Caled”).

She has worked for both Radio Cymru and Radio Wales.

This is her eighth production for Theatr na n’Óg and is very happy to be back.

She now lives in Y Felinheli with Dylan, Llywelyn and Twm the dog.
