Creative Residential 2011

Theatr na n’Óg are working alongside 30 young people from Neath Port Talbot in a creative residential project. The project will take place on the weekend of January 15th and aims to bring young people from all areas of the county together through the medium of the Art’s

During the course of the residential the young people will be developing new skills in theatre and drama techniques, interacting creatively with set design, costume design and various art forms.

The weekend will enable the young people involved to explore and experience many techniques that they many otherwise not have an opportunity to.  It will also provide the young people with an opportunity to share their thoughts and feelings on what type of project they would like to develop for stage 2 of the residential.

Comenius Regio Project 2011

We are working alongside Swansea's, International Dimension in Education department on an exciting project involving year 5 and 6 pupils.  The project is being delivered to Terrace Rd Primary, Hafod Primary and Morriston Comprehensive during March.  This project has embraced Unicef's, The Rights of the Child and focuses on themes of diversity, isolation, predigests and inclusion.

During the project each school will be working along side Theatr na n'Óg's pracititoners for two and a half days in what will be a creative, practical and interactive workshop.  Pupils will have opportunities to explore how The Rights of the Child affects them and how they would actively deal with some of the themes this project explores.

This project is part of a larger programme with Alison Jenner and the Comenius Regio project in Poland.
