Neath Port Talbot Theatre Company entertains Mayor

One of the last performances of ' Halt! Who Goes There?' by Neath Port Talbot theatre company, Theatr na nÓg, was this week seen by Cllr Marian Lewis, Mayor of Neath Port Talbot Borough Council. Over 5000 children have been inspired by the play and following nearly 100 performances over the Autumn term at the Dylan Thomas Theatre in Swansea, the very popular play will come to a close this week. All of the 97 performances were sold out three months in advance and it introduced young people to the lives of ordinary people living through extraordinary times.

Neath based Theatr na nÓg is preparing to leave the green green grass of home to perform its one-man show, 'You Should ask Wallace' at the Science Centre in Singapore at the British High Commissioners Residence at the end of November funded by Wales Arts International.

Marking Centenary of Wallace's Death in London

Theatr na nÓg’s play 'You Should Ask Wallace', has been invited to perform at the Natural History Museum in London this Thursday, November 7th in the company of Sir David Attenborough and Bill Bailey. The play based on Alfred Russel Wallace, has toured the UK for the past year, and will feature at the Flett Lecture Theatre as part of the Wallace 100 Events, marking the centenary of Wallace's death.

Halt! Who Goes There?! now in Welsh ..

Having been performed through the medium of English over the last eight weeks and with all 90 performances sold out three months in advance, 'Halt! Who Goes There?' (Y Gelyn Cudd) by Theatr na nÓg will, from November 6th, be performed in Welsh. This drama introduces young people to the lives of ordinary people living through extraordinary times.

Wallace at Swansea

Neath based Theatr na nÓg is going on tour to celebrate the life of one of the 19th century's most remarkable Welsh intellectuals - Alfred Russel Wallace (1823 -1913). The one man show called ‘ You Should Ask Wallace,’ has already visited schools in south and north Wales and will now visit the Swansea Museum between October 14th - 26th.

An Amazing Adventure at the Green Man Festival

Theatr na nÓg will next week, (August 15th- 18th), bring you another wonderful story to enchant young audiences and inspire young minds, at the award winning Green Man Festival, held near Crickhowell in the Brecon Beacons.
Two actors portraying Chris Kinahan and Carwyn Jones will enthuse you with a magical and captivating performance of ' The Amazing Adventures of Wallace and Bates' that celebrates the life of Alfred Russel Wallace, one of the unsung heroes of science born in Usk.

Award winning drama heads for the 'Steddfod

Following on from the highly successful drama ‘A Breath of Fresh Air’ that was recently awarded the Arts, Business and Young People's award by Arts and Business Cymru, Theatr na nÓg will now perform the drama at the National Eisteddfod in Denbigh this August. It's an exciting time for the Neath based company who has been invited to perform the drama there by Wales and West Utilities (WWU), outisde the Science and Technology Pavillion.

A Fringe First for Theatr na nÓg

Theatr na nÓg will make its debut appearance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the largest arts event in the world in August with its one man show “You Should Ask Wallace”.

Theatr na nÓg has been touring various locations celebrating the life of Alfred Russel Wallace, (1823 -1913), one of the 19th century's most remarkable intellectuals. The play has been seen in schools, museums and theatres throughout the UK and at the end of the year the company will travel to Singapore to perform at the prestigious Science Centre in the city.

‘A Breath of Fresh Air’

Following a hugely successful schools production of 'A Breath of Fresh Air' – a production which highlights the dangers of Carbon Monoxide poisoning, Theatr na nÓg is returning to perform at schools in Bristol and the surrounding areas. Over the last few months, Theatr na nÓg in conjunction with Wales and West Utilities and Arts and Business Cymru, has toured 20 schools in south west Wales .. now they are on to pastures new.

Stafford Gatehouse are buzzing about Phyl's new show!

Director and actor Phylip Harries makes a welcome return to the Stafford Gatehouse Theatre on May 28th when Theatr na nÓg's production of 'We Need Bees' makes a buzzing visit. The production especially for children and families is currently on an eight week UK tour, and for one day only, performs at the Gatehouse.

Theatr na nÓg goes live!
It's vibrant and colourful and illustrates the exciting work of the company. Today, (Monday, 15th of April) Theatr na nÓg's new website goes live! www.theatrnanog.co.uk. It is this natural evolution that saw the Company rebrand, and with a new logo and new website, Theatr na nÓg aims to attract new audiences to its work.

This Monday, in the Assembly in Cardiff, as part of an event organized by the National Science Academy, Theatr na nÓg will commence on a tour to celebrate the life of one of the 19th century's most remarkable Welsh intellectuals - Alfred Russel Wallace (1823 -1913). In a one man show called ‘ You Should Ask Wallace,’ the drama goes on tour for a whole year around schools in south and north Wales, before venturing to theatres across Wales, England, Rio de Janeiro and Singapore at the end of the year.

You can’t smell it, taste it or see it, it can be caused by any faulty appliance, powered by any fuel that burns and it only takes between one to three minutes to kill …. the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning is the basis to Theatr na nÓg's new 30 minute production that will tour 20 schools in South Wales this February.

Have you ever heard of poor old Bertie Bee – the friendly Bee who always seems to be working harder than his peers in a busy beehive, spending his day pollinating boring old apples when actually he'd prefer to be free to pollinate wild flowers? Bertie Bee is one of the main characters in the popular show 'We Need Bees' by Theatr na nÓg and will be buzzing its way toa venue near you soon.
