Cyrano

Ever fallen in love with the most wonderful, beautiful person in the world and been unable to act upon it? Cyrano is the ultimate tale of unrequited love. Our hero has everything - the courage of a lion, the heart of a poet and the nose of wellan anteater.

Smitten with Parisian beauty Roxanne, the charismatic but nasally challenged Cyrano is desperate to declare his love for her, but then he sees his shadow. Believing she will reject his romantic advances on account of his looks Cyrano is forced to live out his hopes of love through another, the handsome yet inarticulate Christian. Christian may have the requisite good looks to initially turn Roxanne's head but he is hardly the sharpest sword in the scabbard and so enlists Cyrano's aid - only his words can capture her soul.

Can we really judge each other by our appearance? And should you run someone through with a sword for calling you big nose?

Edmond Rostond's play Cyrano De Bergerac was a dramatic sensation when it was first performed on the French stage in 1897. Over a century later, Theatr Na Nog, in this specially commissioned version of the tale from Keiron Self, take you back to a time of honour and chivalry, but also, more universally, a time where difference and timidity are more powerful enemies to happiness than an advancing army.

A painfully funny comedy and a tragic love story, a rollicking adventure and an intimate portrayal of love, Theatr Na Nogs Cyrano embraces the original tale whilst adding its own take on the famous play, and tells it with panache!

Capture the moon and fall in love with Cyrano. just dont mention the nose.....!
