The Carolyn Davies Creative Learning Award

The Carolyn Davies Creative Learning Award

Every year magic is happening in classrooms all across Swansea as ambitious teachers and pupils create inspiring projects based on the themes of Theatr na nÓg productions. In memory of teacher and former chair of Theatr na nÓg board, Carolyn Davies, these creative efforts will be recognised and celebrated for the first time, at an exclusive award ceremony. To enter you just need to submit a 500 word description and short video about your class projects.

‘Carolyn was fuelled by the idea that every child had a right to see and experience the arts, and she put the child’s experience right at the heart of our work. She advised us and encouraged us to make the most relevant and vital theatre for our young audiences.’
- Geinor Styles, Artistic Director of Theatr na nÓg

Are you a teacher of a class who booked to see The White Feather? If you are working on any classroom activity related to the play or its themes, then enter your class for an award. Remember to video document your project as you go and don't forget to look at our teaching resources for inspiration! Please enter as a class, not school, and note that multiple classes from the same school can enter.

- Fill out the online form below by Fri 22nd February 2019 to show us what you've been up to.
- A panel of judges including professionals from the Arts, Museum and Heritage, and Education sectors will select a shortlist of their favourite projects.
- All entrants will be contacted by Mon 4th March to let them know if they've made the shortlist. Successful classes will be invited to attend an exclusive awards ceremony with their families on Tue 19th March.
- At the award ceremony the shortlisted projects will be screened and an overall winner announced and presented with a host of exciting prizes.
