Ebbw Vale born Mike James has over thirty years experience working in theatre and TV as a writer, producer and director.

As Artistic Director of the Sherman Theatre Cardiff and also of the Torch Theatre, West Wales, he directed over sixty main stage shows including the hit musical Blood Brothers and has written many musical stage adaptations including 'Vanity Fair', 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles', 'History of Mr Polly, 'Gregory's Girl' as well as writing and directing eleven musical shows for children.

He is currently developing a new play with Terry Hands at Theatre Clwyd based on the story of the BBC's move to Bangor during the war, which will be presented as a joint production with Clwyd and Theatre Wolsey, Ipswich and is likely to be the opening production of a brand new theatre complex in Bangor at the end of next year.
